BMR - BOSKETT METALS RECYCLING

Miniature trains on tracks with construction equipment and scaffolding in the background.

Boskett Metals Recycling is a modern O gauge industrial layout depicting a busy scrap metal recycling facility. Set in the present day, the layout captures the sights, sounds and atmosphere of a working metals yard, where rail and road transport combine to move scrap materials for processing and recycling.

Bringing realism to 7mm scale

A detailed model of a junkyard or scrapyard scene with miniature trains, railcars, and construction equipment, including a yellow crane and figures, set against a blue wall with labeled containers.

Inspiration from Kingsbury EMR scrapyard in Birmingham, West Midlands

Inspired by real-life recycling facilities, the layout portrays a busy metals yard where nothing goes to waste. From piles of scrap steel and old machinery to modern loading equipment and industrial locomotives, every scene reflects the importance of recycling in today’s railway and industrial industries.

It seems daft to cut up perfectly good O gauge models, but it’s a work of art

No O gauge locomotives were harmed in the making of this layout… well, perhaps a few perfectly good ones were carefully cut up to create authentic scrapyard scenes!

Aiming to get the realistic approach to what was witnessed in a scrapyard

Set within a contemporary industrial scene, Boskett Metals Recycling features detailed scrap handling equipment, heavy plant, weathered buildings and realistic railway operations. Trains arrive to collect processed metals while lorries and machinery keep the yard moving throughout the day.

Measuring 10ft x 2.5ft, this exhibition layout is available for exhibitions.
